1. Overview
TapFind ("the App") is built by Distinct. Developers LLC ("we," "us," "our"). This Privacy Policy explains what information the App handles and how. The short version: TapFind does not collect, store on our servers, or transmit your personal data to us. Your content lives on your device and, if enabled, in your own private iCloud account.
2. Information the App handles
Your content (locations, bins, items, photos, parking spots)
This content is stored locally on your device and, if you have iCloud enabled, synced to your private iCloud account using Apple's CloudKit. It is stored under your Apple ID and is not accessible to us.
Location information
If you use the Parking finder, TapFind uses your device's location to save a parking spot and to show live distance, a compass direction, and walking directions back to it. Location data is processed on your device to power these features. We do not collect, store on our servers, or transmit your location to ourselves or any third party.
NFC tags
TapFind reads and writes NFC tags that you place on your bins. A tag stores only a private link that opens the corresponding bin in the App (for example, tapfind://bin/…). Tags do not contain personal information, and scanning them does not send any data to us.
Photos
You may optionally attach photos to items or parking spots. These photos are stored on your device with a local backup and sync via your private iCloud. We do not access your photo library beyond the images you choose to add, and those images are not sent to us.
Bluetooth
If you enable automatic parking save, TapFind can use Bluetooth to detect when your car's connection disconnects, as a cue to save your spot. This happens on your device and is not used to collect or transmit data.
Notifications
If you enable them, TapFind schedules local notifications (such as parking meter reminders) directly on your device. These are not generated from, or sent to, any server of ours.
3. What we do not collect
- We do not require you to create an account or provide your name, email, or phone number to use the App.
- We do not use third-party analytics, advertising networks, or tracking SDKs.
- We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with anyone.
- We do not maintain servers that store your TapFind content — your data lives on your device and in your personal iCloud.
4. How your data is stored and protected
Your TapFind data is held on your device and, when iCloud is enabled, in Apple's iCloud/CloudKit under your Apple ID. It is protected by your device passcode, Face ID / Touch ID, and the security of your Apple account. Because this data is synced through Apple's services, Apple's handling of it is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.
5. Your choices and controls
- Edit or delete content at any time within the App.
- Manage permissions for Location, Bluetooth, NFC, Photos, and Notifications in iOS Settings → TapFind. The App's features that rely on a permission simply stop working if you turn it off.
- Delete the App to remove its data stored locally on your device.
- Manage iCloud data through iOS Settings → [your name] → iCloud, where you can review or remove app data synced to iCloud.
6. Children's privacy
TapFind is a general-audience utility and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Because the App does not collect personal information from anyone, no special collection of children's data occurs.
7. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above and post the new version at this page. Significant changes will be reflected here before they take effect.
